Mjøndalen is about 50mins away from Oslo by train which makes one plan days ahead. With Anders at work and Janet and Jacob sick it made things trickier. But spent the first real day in Norway just relaxing really and sorting out a local sim card and some actually warm gloves.

But on the way round I spotted the latest Marshall Amps radio/stereo. Sadly I very much doubt it will fit in my bag.

A small observation from the first Scandinavian country I visit is that all the dirty mags in mall are just, on the shelf. No shits are given with boobs etc just on display.

Day 43

Next day would be a bit more adventure filled. The plan was to get the train into Oslo, go to the Viking museum and as many other things as I could.

The low temps here don’t feel as bad as the mild temps back in Dunas! must be the wind. So many of the cool sights I’ve seen on the train you just can’t take photos of, with fast speed and the filthy  windows it just sucks.

But the Viking museum turned out to be an interesting place, with well preserved boats and artifacts. All the boats had been converted to burial vessels and had been raided not long after they were buried so all the gold etc was long gone.

Im surprised alot of the artifacts were still intact considering they are wood. There was a big board talking about how they are going to preserve them going forward.

A brisk walk to the Fram museum was to finish the afternoon. The Fram was the first ship able to sail through Ice through it’s revolutionary hull thats smooth and shaped like an acorn.

The museum is split up into three floors. Most of it details each voyage the ship had done and the crew for each. Very good read but at the same time alot to absorb.

Grabbed a few snaps on the way home of the city.

Day 44

Friday was a relaxed day of catching up on sleep and news. Janet was still very sick so once Anders arrived back home we went for a drive to Drammen to give Janet some time to sleep without Jacob around. Drammen is pretty nice, although it was getting a tad cold by the time we headed back.

I am so happy with the Lumix GM-1 camera. It just takes amazing photos with little effort and quickly. Seems to thrive in the dusk/low light situations. I might end up filling up the 32GB card though because of it.
