So after arriving the night before and missing the Gecko’s / Intrepid group meeting I joined up and got right into it with a day tour around Kathmandu. We went too too places, The Monkey Temple and Boudaath Stupa.

Kathmandu was a bit of shock to the system after Shanghai. Its alot rougher and dirtier than I was expecting. But the culture is as rich as any where else i’ve been.

The Monkey Temple was pretty amazing. A few of them started scrapping it out and they seem very used to people walking around. Although we were told not to look them in the eye, just like a little mafia.

Then off to the next stop on our day tour.

After the day trip we headed back through the rough steets of Kathmandu to the Hotel Yellow Pagoda. From there the team of us decided to go for dinner somewhere and check out the streets and markets.

After wandering the streets and buying a yak blanket with got the Rickshaw back to the hotel. One little dude had to haul me and James on a single speed Rickshaw easily totalling 160kg, we were well impressed.

Finished the night with a beer and dinner out at a recommended place by the guide. Next day, off to Lhasa, Tibet!
