New Years Eve started off packing up and driving back from Åal where the cabin was back to Mjøndalen, a 3.5hr trip. Reasonably uneventful drive with the most exciting thing being the icy road coming down the mountainside.

Sadly I have all but one photo from New Years Eve as I didn’t think to take my camera and my iPhone was useless in the dark. But it was spent eating seafood with Anders’ family which I don’t usually eat seafood, but this stuff was rather mild and tasty. It’s amazing the amount of fireworks a little town lets off and they are so much better than the ones back home. I attempted to take photos but it was just a blur on my phone.

Day 64 – New Years day

New years day was a quiet one for most of us due to a 3am roll in, with some people feeling hungover, some still sick from the flu and the kids burning round the house at 100 km/h. Most of the afternoon was spent eating bacon and eggs and watching TV.

Day 65

Friday we planned to go to the first brewing of Jonas’ family brewery. Pretty cool place with cool new gear.

After that we headed to Anders’ parents place to pick up his guitar amp and I finally got my hands on the Ice Cake recipe / stuffed my face with cake.

My last night was spent having a look at all Anders’ guitars and him jamming on them to show me the different sounds you can get out of P90’s as well as us figuring out how to make P90’s out of phase with each other.

I said goodbye to Jacob and Janet and started packing up all my stuff ready for the very early flight ahead.
