As aslways Kathmandu Airport was painful. Multiple security checks (5), they don’t tell you what gate you leave from till the last minute and you can’t go through the last security check until the guy lets you because there isn’t enough seats. Sigh.
Doha Airport was easily one of the best i’ve been through, 2am and still painless and it was massive! I got a bit of sleep on the plane until we flew over the Blacksea, it was bumpy for the rest of the trip.
Landing in Frankfurt was great, familiar feeling to the airport, painless and finally no issues with passports or visas.
Got the bus to Lukas’ place and pretty much showered, talked for a little while, had dinner then passed out, that was the end of that day.
The next day was a bit more eventful. Spent the day walking around Frankfurt, managed to cover a fair bit of ground.
Seasonal changes in any city just look so cool.
The first thing I noticed in Frankfurt was the endless vapor trails from all the planes overhead. It really makes a show.
Walking all the way along the river you get an amazing view of the city skyline.
Stopped and watched an old building get ripped down for a while. Tried to time lapse it but they were going waaaay to slow for it to look cool.
And most likely my favourite picture of the day. I saw these all around the place.
Theres a few walking bridges and they seem to have the same lock theme like France.
After 3 weeks in Nepal/China/Tibet this city is really quiet. The loudest thing I heard all day was an Audi R8 thrashing down the road. No horns, no music, no dogs just peace and quiet.
The Christmas Market was starting to be setup when I walked past. I think we might go down on Wednesday to have a look.
I headed to the Main Tower to get a nice view of the city and ended up having lunch there just to relax and sit down after a few hours of walking.
And even managed to catch the trams back to the house without getting lost. Such as well designed city. It gets dark here about 4.30pm, looks amazing but gets cold quick.
Was a pretty short day, but I pretty much got back and went right to sleep. Although I did attempt to go to the supermarket, which I had no idea what anything was, I saw snickers, coke, chocolate and soap. Thats all I needed.
