So Wednesday started off rather early due to breakfast being served early and know I had to check out I wanted to get out and look at a few more things in Stockholm.
After checking out I realised I still had entry to the Royal Palace’s internal museum so I headed that way to kill some time, which upon arrival I happened to turn up at the changing of the royal guard.
It had snowed a bit that morning and night so it looked at lot cooler than usual. Once it had finished I could go inside and look at the museum which documents construction, fire and reconstruction of the Palace.
After only taking a few photos I noticed that the lens casing on my camera was slipping, it had actually come off totally due to the glue breaking down and with a bit of googling I found out I wasn’t the only one. So I spent the next couple of hours wandering around trying to a camera repair shop with no luck.
Time to head to Berlin! When I arrived in Berlin it was a bit of a challenge. Due to the time I arrived the information centers were closed and the Airport station has very poor signage, as in no maps of the city and no signs telling you what platform is what train just the platform number. So I jumped on the one everyone else was going to, which was the main station assuming I’d find help there. There were no staff around and my phone led me in the wrong direction just before dying, so I ended up waaay out west and ended up just getting a taxi to the hostel. Will try again tomorrow.
Day 71
With a fresh paper map (paper doesnt run out of battery!) I headed towards the Panasonic service center to try get my camera fixed with no luck, at least it is still under warranty.
Then, as I knew I was doing the walking tour the next day I went to the graffiti’d part of the Berlin wall.
It was a fair bit of walking that day I headed towards the closest Yelp recommended place, Burgermeister. Located underneath the S Bahn in old public toilet rooms.
On the way back to the hostel, I spotted the strange face made of people on the side of the building and the traffic light guys with hats on in East Berlin.
